Newark Catholic High School graduated a class of 57 seniors in a commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 26 in the school auditorium. A baccalaureate Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 21 in Newark St. Francis de Sales Church.
The class valedictorian was Natalie Jungers and the salutatorian was Nathaniel Willis.
Ninety-five percent of the graduates will move on to higher education. They earned $5.3 million in scholarships.
Twenty-one percent plan to take part in intercollegiate athletics, with slightly more than half intending to major in STEM (science, technology, education and mathematics) fields of study.
Fifty-four percent of class members were eligible for the National Honor Society. Their average grade-point average was 3.57.
The class performed 3,948 hours of community service and helped the school donate 608 pounds of food to a local pantry.
