Reynoldsburg St. Pius X Church will hold its annual Parish Mission on Sunday, March 5, through Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the church, 1051 Waggoner Road. Fellowship will follow in the Msgr. Funk Family Center.

MaryBeth Eberhard will be the mission director. Eberhard is a nationally known writer for Catholicmom.com and Holy Cross Family Ministries. She and her husband of 25 years are the parents of eight children. 

Eberhard earned her Bachelor of Science in education from Duquesne University. She is a columnist locally for The Catholic Times, writing on marriage and family life. Her work also can be found in the National Catholic Register, Women in the New Evangelization and Blessed is She. 

She is the cohost of the Visitation podcast that inspires and encourages women to embrace their vocation as wives and mothers and which airs on St. Gabriel Catholic Radio, AM 820. More of her work can be viewed at www.marybetheberhard.com.

The theme for the mission is “3 Days: A Lenten Walk.” Eberhard will discuss themes of patience (waiting on the Lord), endurance (keeping our eyes on the goal) and faithfulness (in all things we stay true).

St. Vincent center hosts foster parent info session

Representatives from St. Vincent Family Services (SVFS) will answer questions and share information on fostering children in need, foster parent training and support services for foster families at an information session at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 at Wild Goose Creative, 188 McDowell St., Columbus.

Ohio Dominican announces March preview day

Ohio Dominican University (ODU) will host its spring preview day from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at the Bishop Griffin Student Center, 1216 Sunbury Road, Columbus.

Interested high school students and their families can register at ohiodominican.edu/PreviewDay.

Students can tour campus, explore available majors, discuss financial aid options, have a complimentary meal, learn about student clubs and honors programs, meet with professors and talk with current ODU students.

Riedlinger named Ohio Dominican provost

Shonna Riedlinger has been appointed provost of Ohio Dominican University (ODU), effective immediately. She had been serving as acting vice president for academic affairs since November 2022.

As provost, she will manage all academic programs, including the curriculum as well as faculty and student progress. She also will oversee the registrar’s office, library, academic resource center, academic advising center, transfer program articulation, the Center for Instructional Technology and eLearning and the online extension program.

Riedlinger joined ODU in 2012 as an assistant professor in the university’s then-new Master of Science in Physician Assistant (PA) Studies program. Within a year, she was appointed director of the PA program, a role in which she served until fall 2022. She also has served as chair of ODU’s health sciences division. 

Before joining the ODU community, she served in several roles in health care, including 15 years as a physician assistant in emergency medicine at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

For the past eight years, she has served on the board of trustees for the Mohun Health Care Center, which is adjacent to ODU’s campus and is operated by ODU’s founding congregation, the Dominican Sisters of Peace.
