Dan Kinley, principal of Columbus St. Matthias School, retired at the end of the just-completed academic year after 30 years in that position. He also was principal at London St. Patrick School in 1991-1992.
Other diocesan principals retiring were Luna Alsharaiha, principal at Columbus St. Mary German Village School from 2011 to 2015 and Columbus St. Agatha School from 2015 to 2022, and Matt Ritzert, principal at Dover Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School from 2013 to 2022.
The three were honored at the annual year-end meeting of diocesan school administrators.
Receiving recognition for service milestones were Jim Silcott, principal, Columbus Our Lady of Peace School (30 years); Rocco Fumi, assistant principal, Columbus Bishop Ready High School (20 years); Amy Chessler, principal, Columbus Holy Spirit School; and Mary Kobel, principal, Coshocton Sacred Heart School (both five years).
