Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine joined Columbus St. Catharine School students on Thursday, April 13 for the Pledge of Allegiance and morning prayer. Two eighth-grade students greeted the governor with a message and thanked him for his service to the state and his support for Catholic education. “Governor DeWine, on behalf of the community of Saint Catharine School, we welcome you to our school during this joyful week of Easter, and we thank you for all that you have done to support us as we grow up and learn in our faith-based school.” The ceremony closed with the following prayer for Gov. DeWine: “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus Christ, You are our risen and glorified Lord. We ask You to bless Governor DeWine today and all days. Strengthen in Him Your Holy Spirit’s gifts of right judgment, fortitude, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, fear of the Lord, and piety. Continue to pour Your grace out on him as he continues to work to help the families and children of Ohio. Bless his family and all the men and women who work beside him each and every day. Let Governor DeWine’s work always bring You glory Lord. We ask all of this Lord with the certainty of Your unending love for us all, and we praise You and thank You. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen” Photos courtesy St. Catharine School
